"La Boheme" (C) Teatro Lirico D'Europa
Tuesday, October 20, 2009 7:30 PM
Sponsored by Helena Regional Medical Center Smith Insurance of Helena/Farmers Insurance
In Honor of Helen Mosby on her 100th Birthday |
La Boheme ranks fourth in the list of all time favorite operas. In the opera, based in Paris, the Bohemian friends face hardships every day. They cannot pay their rent; they have little to eat; and they have to pawn clothes and jewelry to pay for medicine when Mimi is ill. But love, the other main theme, is a source of joy and pain. Luckily the Bohemians have a sense of humor, and it keeps them from dying of despair. | |
